Description

Lophophora Fricii Cactus | Naturally Imperfect Live Cacti

We hold our Lophophora plants to exceptionally high standards. Prior to shipment, every plant is carefully inspected both above and below the soil line. Specimens that do not meet our strict aesthetic criteria are listed here.

These Lophophora fricii plants are fully healthy; however, minor cosmetic imperfections prevent them from qualifying for our primary listings. This can be rust spots, physical damage from neighboring cacti or signs of etiolation. As a result, these live cacti offer outstanding value and often return to near-perfect form after just one growing season.

Our iron clad 14 day plant guarantee still applies to these cacti.

In many cases, there are no visible imperfections above the soil line, with minor flaws present only below the surface. The photos shown represent a sample selection from this category.

Lophophora fricii is a rare and highly sought-after species of the Lophophora genus, admired for its beautiful pink flowers, bluish-green body, and distinctive ribbed form. Native to northeastern Mexico, this slow-growing cactus is a favorite among collectors for its unique appearance and resilience. Our Lophophora fricii specimens are nursery-grown, ethically sourced, and ideal for both beginners and seasoned cactus enthusiasts. Thriving in well-draining soil with ample sunlight and minimal water, this cactus makes a stunning addition to any arid or indoor plant collection. Available in limited quantities.

Typically flowers are carmine-red, but can vary to much lighter shades. Lophophora fricii is a very mutable species, by observing plants in habitat, the colour can be much lighter than that indicated in a description. Its difficult to find two similar plants in one location, particularly with flower and body shape. Pale grey-green to yellow-green, usually lacking well defined ribs and furrows. The stems starts branching when a plant with a single crown reaches the size of a large saucer.

Fricii is among the largest Lophophoras, its possible for it to grow into a very large 21-ribbed plant that may exceed 10 cm across.
