Description
Astrophytum Myriostigma Hekiran Cactus
A. Hekiran is similar to the other myriostigma, but it deviates in two ways from the well-known typical form.
- It lacks white flecks, giving it a bright green or gray-green overall appearance
- It exhibits partially developed extra ribs that become more pronounced with age.
Astrophytum myriostigma is a spineless succulent plant. A transverse section of the stem reveals a perfect star shaped form giving the plant the appearance of a bishop’s mitre (hence the common name Bishop’s cap) A. myriostigma seems to flower independently of day length, flowering intermittently throughout the warm months from the end of winter to the start of autumn.
