Description
Agave Potatorum var. Verschaffeltii
Agave potatorum var. verschaffeltii is a stunning, slow-growing agave prized for its symmetrical rosette form and beautifully textured leaves. Each leaf is a powdery blue-green, edged with small, evenly spaced teeth and tipped with a striking dark spine. Mature rosettes typically reach 30–60 cm (12–24 in) across, making this variety perfect for pots, rock gardens, or xeriscape landscapes.
Native to the arid regions of Mexico, this agave thrives in full sun and well-draining soil. It’s drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance—ideal for both beginner and experienced succulent enthusiasts.
In late maturity, the plant produces a tall, dramatic flower spike before completing its life cycle, often leaving offsets (“pups”) to continue its legacy.
