Mammillaria Crucigera

Mammillaria crucigera is a small, slow-growing cactus in the family Cactaceae, native to Mexico. It forms a compact, globular to short cylindrical stem covered with closely spaced tubercles rather than continuous ribs. Each tubercle bears clusters of radial spines, giving the plant a dense, textured appearance.

With suitable conditions, mature plants can produce small flowers around the upper portion of the stem. Like most Mammillaria, it is adapted to dry conditions and stores water in its succulent stem.
