Endemic to Bolivia it normally is a branching columnar cactus. It forms soon tangled scrubs of long golden coloured drooping stems and produces vivid orange to salmon-pink flowers. This is a rare crested from of Hildewintera aureispina, This cactus forms huge tangled mounds of fairly rapid growth.
