Description

Astrophytum Capricorne var. Crassispinum Nudum | Goats Horn Cactus

Astrophytum capricorne var. crassispinum nudum, a sought-after variety of the classic Goat’s Horn Cactus.

Unlike standard Astrophytum capricorne cultivars covered in dense white flecking (trichomes), the nudum variation boasts a smooth, deep-green, multi-ribbed body. This rich emerald epidermis creates a striking contrast against its defining feature: massive, thick (crassispinum), flat-ribbon spines that twist and curve outward like wild goat horns. In summer, mature plants reward growers with large, satin-yellow blossoms featuring vivid orange-red centers.

Whether you are an avid Astrophytum collector, a succulent enthusiast, or looking for a low-maintenance focal point, this nursery-grown specimen brings dramatic geometry to any windowsill, greenhouse, or staging setup.

The Astrophytum Capricorne var. Aureum variety with golden spines can be found here.
