A must have for any serious cactus collection. Ariocarpus cacti are among the most rare and unique of cacti. Very slow growing with a truly unique appearance. Ariocarpus grows in Mexico on limestone at elevations of over 600m.

Ariocarpus retusus var furfuraceous has the distinctive characteristic of equilaterally triangular shaped tubercles which are nearly flattened. Flower are cream-white to yellowish-white or yellow (occasionally with reddish mid-ribs) with a satin sheen, 3 to 5 cm in diameter up to 4 cm long. Late autumn or early winter. (October)
